Bakor Vapour Permeable Air Barriers

Not all air barriers are vapour barriers. Air-Bloc 07, Air-Bloc 31 and Air-Bloc 33 are vapour permeable air barrier systems, which provide continuous air tightness and water protection, while remaining permeable to the passage of vapour. To complete the systems, Blueskin® is used as a transition membrane to span gaps between dissimilar surfaces in key areas such as wall-to-window frames, wall-to-slab, wall-to-roof junction, etc.

Bakor vapour permeable air barriers offer designers greater flexibility in their wall designs since their position would not interfere with the vapour diffusion of the wall assembly. Because of their high vapour permeance, vapour permeable air barriers can essentially let the wall "breathe" and are considered "breather type membranes"

Air-Bloc 07 is ideal for cold weather application, Air-Bloc 31 is ideal for projects that require a low VOC, low odor and non-flammable product. Air-Bloc 33 is UV-resistant and is ideal for use behind open-face wall panels and/or claddings. Air-Bloc 07

Used to provide an air and rain barrier on exterior construction surfaces such as masonry, concrete, exterior grade gypsum or rigid insulation in systems utilizing an interior vapour barrier such as polyethylene film where the entrapment of water vapour is to be avoided.

Choose Air-Bloc 07 for applications during cold temperatures.

Air-Bloc 31

Used to provide an air and rain barrier on construction surfaces such as masonry, concrete or gypsum board. Can be installed on the cold side of the wall assembly without trapping moisture. Air-Bloc 31 is water-based, non-flammable and has a very high water vapour permeance.

Choose Air-Bloc 31 for projects requiring low VOC, low odour applications. It is excellent for use in retrofit projects.

Air-Bloc 33

Used to provide a UV-resistant air barrier and rain barrier when used in conjunction with rainscreen wall systems. Air-Bloc 33 is water-based, fire-resistive and has a very high water vapour permeance.

Choose Air-Bloc 33 for project requiring a UV-resistant air barrier. It is excellent for application behind open-face wall panels or if extended exposure of the air barrier is anticipated during the construction process.
