Self-Adhered Weatherproofing for Exterior Ductwork

FOILSKIN® is a self-adhesive SBS modified membrane, laminated to a glass scrim reinforced aluminum foil. FOILSKIN® is specifically designed for use as a jacketing system over insulated ducts, chilled water piping, refrigeration pipes, plenums and housing to provide an ultra-violet weather barrier.

FOILSKIN® is easier and more economical to install then metal or PVC jacketing and can be used over rectangular or round piping and ductwork. FOILSKIN® can also be used to protect piping in underground applications.

Steps to a Successful FOILSKIN® Installation:

Step 1:

• Cut the first piece of FOILSKIN® and begin by installing on the underside of the duct. Extending 4" up the sides.
  

Steps 2 & 3:

• Install 2nd and 3rd pieces, extending 4" (100 mm) on to the top surface.

Step 4:

• Complete the installation with a top piece and extend 4" down the vertical surfaces.

Step 5:

• FOILSKIN® must be pinned (mechanically fastened) on the underside of ducts wider then 2 ft (600 mm). Cover the fastener head with a 4" (100 mm) square piece of FOILSKIN®.
