790-11 Protected Membrane Roof AssemblyProtected membrane roofing assemblies, also referred to as inverted roofs, upside down roofs or insulated roofing membrane assemblies (IRMA), have been commonly used in commercial applications since the 1960's. Their success, in conjunction with Bakor's 790-11 Rubberized Asphalt Membrane, have proven the test of time.
Working our way towards the exterior of the building, a protected membrane roof assembly consists of the roof deck, the waterproofing membrane, moisture-resistant rigid insulation, a ballast reduction fabric and then ballast. The membrane is essentially protected from the exterior environment by the rigid insulation and ballast. Protected membrane roofing assemblies offer the following advantages over conventional type roofing assemblies:
This translates to a roofing system that is more economical to install and lasts longer then conventional assemblies. 790-11 Rubberized AsphaltBakor brings to the specifier over 30 years of experience in hot rubberized asphalt and protected membrane roofing. Our flagship 790-11 system is backed by ISO registration, UL Class A, CCMC approval, LARR and other listings. The system is installed by Bakor trained and qualified contractors, with available warranty coverage of all components, "from the deck up". 790-11 Hot Rubberized Asphalt Design Features:
790-11 membrane can also be used in conjunction with Bakor's modifiedPLUS® roofing membranes at flashings and parapet locations and architectural pavers in order to achieve an ultimate protected roofing membrane system. Contact your Bakor representative for more information.
